Oh, I even thought, that some portuguese guys bought it as a new :) Anyway, it's interesting why they bought exactly Wiima - there were a thousands buses located closer to that city. And they all already had sliding windows!

No, back then they only bought their own Portuguese built. In the 1990's, close to 2.000 2hand buses were imported to Portugal to replace their very old fleet. This bus here was not purchased because it was Wiima bodied, but because it's on a Volvo chassis - which were very popular at that time.

That make sense, but anyway - going to Finland to buy old bus is a quite far journey!

There were several importers in Portugal. So the bus companies who bought these buses didn't go to Finland, Sweden, Germany, Denmark etc. They visited the dealers in Portugal and bought the buses from them.

Anyway, that's interesting. I've never heard before of Finnish buses were so far from Finland (except former USSR, of course).
