Google translate has not translated this very well, but ...

The London Transport RT was based on a special version of the AEC Regnet Mk III chassis (Regent III RT), and had bodies by a number of bodybuilders. This one happens to be Park Royal.

Thank you for the link. I just wanted to know if 'Park Royal' correct model of this bus or 'AEC Regent III' one. As I see the AEC it's a chassis manufacturer and there were a lot of bodies manufacturers using this chassis. I am going to add a separate record to photobus database for this bus from Great Britain http://fotobus.msk.ru/photo/780459/ . What's the correct model should be set?

My list says that it is 1949 September AEC Regent III Originally with Park Royal body. Seating H30/26R which converted to O33/26R in 1967

Dear Martinsh, can you please educate in brief, about column "Seating" which usually appears in databases?

OK, very briefly

H30/26R

the number is the number of seats on each deck. In this case 30 on top deck, 26 on lower.

H = highbridge double deck bus

other common prefixes

O - open top double deck
CO - convertible open top double deck
B - bus (single deck)
C - Coach
M - minibus

R = rear entrance

other common suffixes

F - front entrance
D - dual door
T - three doors

after doorway can also appear the following codes

L - equipped with chairlift
T - fitted with toilet

Hope that helps

Yes, it is open top http://fotobus.msk.ru/photo/780459/ so looks like data is correct.

Thank you, very helpful! Do you have a sample of bus with CO prefix in index? I am trying to understand the difference between buses with O and CO prefixes.

CO means convertible open top. This means the vehicle has an upper deck that can be removed (usually just below the windows). The idea being that the bus runs as open top in summer and closed top (on normal routes) in winter.

I'm afraid I don't have any examples to hand - maybe this site can help
www.opentopbus.net - it certainly has a good section on "layout codes"

Do you have any information about that ex-British bus - http://fotobus.msk.ru/photo/824246/ ?
