Karalis ArtursLocal Editor — Portugal
User about himselfBorn in the late 1980s in Riga, Latvia. Back when floppy disks were king and buses still had character, I emerged into the world already suspicious of printers and oddly obsessed with trams.
From a young age, I had two great loves: computers and public transport. Some kids had toy trains, I memorized actual schedules, routes and models. While others were learning to ride bikes, I was learning how to bend computers to my will and assert dominance over misbehaving machines. I’ve also been a gamer for as long as I can remember — from pixelated platformers to sprawling online worlds, it’s been a lifelong adventure I have no intention of ending anytime soon. Naturally, I became a system administrator: part digital firefighter, part caffeine-fueled wizard, full-time “why can’t I access this?” whisperer. My job? Keeping servers happy and coworkers slightly less confused. In 2023, I packed my bags and moved to Portugal — because why not chase trams and sunshine? These days, when I’m not saving networks from themselves, you’ll find me riding every bus just to see where it goes, waving at passing trains like they’re celebrities, or losing myself in video games (where, yes, I still end up fixing virtual servers or taking the bus). And yes, I have taken a selfie with a funicular. GeographyShow: photos by vehicle regions / photos by shooting regions
